David and Syreeta are a couple from New Jersey who got married at Epcot in April of 2021. This gorgeous couple met in the 7th grade when they had their lockers assigned right next to each other. Syreeta was intrigued by David’s gum collection and when they started chatting about it and… well they just never stopped talking.
The couple first began dating back in 1998 in Grade 12. David proposed in 2017 surrounded by their children on Mothers day! SO CUTE!!!
Syreeta and David compliment each other in a lot of ways. They love to make each other laugh and are constantly joking around. They love music, Disney and spending the weekends playing with their children and spending time together as a family. The love of family was front and center during their wedding celebration at Disney. Their children and Syreeta’s sister were the main guests at the morning ceremony and brunch celebration. There was so much love, laughter and happiness during this day and it just felt like such a special time.
The morning started with prep in their rooms. The couples got ready at Disney’s Caribbean beach resort. Syreeta’s sister came and did her hair and makeup for her and her daughter before headding to their Epcot family wedding.
The ceremony took place at Epcot at Disney – a wedding ceremony location I just LOVE. There are so many amazing and unique backdrops for ceremonies, photos and receptions at Epcot. Davie and Syreeta’s wedding took place in the UK Pavilion at the gazebo in the garden. I LOVED the style and planning that Syreeta put into this wedding. The bright red shoes, the leather jacket… it was very rocker style and it totally fit. The little touches of gold and connection between her outfit, David’s and their children’s’ just made it feel like the family affair it was.
David and Syreeta wrote their own vows, a really personalized touch that I love. Because it was so focused on family, the officiant had them stand up with their children and do a family pinky-promise which was so cute and sweet. They clasped their pinkies together, kissed their hands and raised their intertwined fingers up into the air to make it official.
I love it when couples with children really incorporate the family into the ceremony and David and Syreeta did just that.
We finished in France at Epcot for their wedding photos which made for a really romantic backdrop.
We had couple and family photos there and then Minnie and Mickey joined us. Because of COVID, the 6-foot bubble was in effect when this wedding took place but the couple was really willing to work with the new rules to still get some awesome, heartfelt and memorable photos to capture their day. I mean, come on. . . can wedding photos get any cuter than this??
Their brunch reception took place at the UK Garden front and their first dance was choreographed with a violinist. It was a sweet, cute and perfect celebration for this couple that values family over everything.
This Epcot family wedding really was the epitome of family time. Although they originally wanted to get married on a Disney Cruise, this couple worked with the challenges and cancellations of COVID to still have a magical wedding day at Epcot.
