My oh my, do I ever love Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, but it is the perfect spot for a Walt Disney World Wedding. On December 7, 2017, Mitch and Kristy tied the knot at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion. It could not have been a more lovely wedding. I first met the pair the night before at Disney Springs. They arranged for a dinner party for all their guests. The food was delicious. After dinner, we made our way to Disney’s Epcot World Showcase where they had scheduled a private dessert party with a secluded area for watching the Illuminations fireworks. From ice cream to tarts and coffee to hot chocolate, everything was wonderful.
With the wedding only hours away, we all made our way home and prepared for the next days big event. While myself and my husband met Kristy at the Grand Floridian Resort, my second photographer Stephanie, met Mitch and the guys over at the Polynesian Resort. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day. The weather gods were truly on our side for this one. I am so thankful as it made for the most beautiful photos. Not only that, but we had the flexibility to do photographs anywhere! Which to me is awesome. I was so excited to see Kristy’s wedding gown. It were fit for a princess. And a princess she was. Her hair and makeup were flawless, the gown was a perfect fit and her bouquet blew me away.
Soon it was time for Kristy & Mitch to do their first look. I honestly love this part of the wedding day. We got Mitch in place. The location we chose was the beautiful fountain outside at the Grand Floridian. With the anticipation growing, Kristy made her way to Mitch with the biggest smile on her face. With a slight touch of the his shoulder, he turned to look at his glowing bride. Suddenly everything else in their world disappeared. It was just the two of them. The look of love in their eyes and smiles on their faces, they shared in a wedding day kiss. Once they had a few moments to take it all in, we made our way around the grounds with their wedding party for some more formal style photos. One place that Kristy had on her must list of photos was the grand staircase inside the Grand Floridian. And grand it is! This staircase is absolutely beautiful. A absolutely show stopper in this resort lobby.
We made our way over to the Wedding Pavilion for their intimate ceremony. Kristy was breathtaking walking down the aisle with her parents at her side. One special moment I remember is how happy her daughter and niece were as flower girls. They came down the aisle tossing petals with the biggest smiles on their faces. It was a magical moment. Kristy and Mitch exchanged their rings and shared their vows. But the one thing they did to unite their family was a sand ceremony. With their 2 children, they poured coloured sand into their custom frame. To seal the deal, they had their first kiss as husband and wife. Hand in hand they walked down the aisle together.
One thing I love most about Disney Weddings is the exit. Kristy & Mitch chose to choose rose petals for toss. Their family and friends lines the walkway and tossed petals over them as they made their way to the limo. They had quite the view at their reception space. At the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort sits the California Grille Restaurant. With the most perfect view of Magic Kingdom and Cinderella’s castle, they danced, cut the cake and at the most delicious brunch.
I can safely say that this will be a wedding I will always remember. I am so happy to now call this happy couple my friends. I wish a lifetime of happiness to the pair of you
