Sarah and Bryan are a really sweet couple who did their engagement shoot at Disney. We planned a really early engagement shoot at the Polynesian Resort.
They found me through a facebook group called DISbrides which is a group for brides – past, present and future – to use to help plan their weddings. I’m a preferred vendor with them so we were able to connect through that.
Early morning shoots are great here for two main reasons. One, the light is so nice and we caught that morning fog as well which added some nice depth to their shoot. The second reason I love morning shoots so much is that it is so much quieter.
We had to work around zero people and Sarah and Bryan got to be with each other without any onlookers. It made the whole shoot feel so much more relaxed and intimate. This is exactly the vibe I love for photo shoots – engagement shoots especially. It can be hard for couples to relax and just focus on each other with tons of people walking around.
For their attire, we went super simple as well. The resort atmosphere is pretty earthy and low-key so their looks for these photos matched it perfectly. Honestly, with the vibe of the resort and the light morning sunshine and fog… I don’t think I could have planned something so nice.
They brought some props with them as well which made it super fun.
Once we were done at the resort, we went down to the beach at the Polynesian to take some pictures there. The water bungalows and boardwalks have a great Flordian feel to them. The soft morning light was doing us all the favours on this shoot and the photos turned out so well. We really were so lucky this morning with how quiet it was and the weather.
Sarah and Bryan returned to the Swan Resort in 2019 for a Christmas themed Disney wedding. They went through Just Marry and had a really gorgeous wedding. I’m seeing them again soon for another shoot and I’m really excited to spend time with this couple again.
