Jennifer and her family joined me at Disney Springs in November for a beautiful holiday family photo shoot. This was actually my second time working with this family. The first time, the little guy wasn’t in the picture (literally ha ha ha Photography humour) so it was really cool to see how they’ve grown.
They love Disney and Mom really goes all out with the girls for these sessions. They each had custom made Disney dresses which made them look like real Disney princesses.
Disney Springs is a great place for photos. It has a different vibe compared to other spots on the resort. You can also access Disney Springs even if you aren’t staying at Disney and parking is free so I use this spot for clients who just want to meet up for shorter sessions as well.
The parking garage opens at 8:00 am. I always recommend getting there as early as possible to avoid the crowds. Quiet time means you can move a bit slower, the pictures look a lot cleaner and people can usually relax a bit more when it’s not busy.
We really lucked out this day because it was really quiet. We were able to take some photos at Guest Services, at the Chrtistmas trees and at the lagoon.
I like to make sure that there’s a fair breakdown and each child and parent get some photos together. I do each parent with children, children together, the whole family, and then I make sure to pull couples aside so they can get a few photos of just the two of them. Many couples don’t take the time to get shots of just them, at least not since their wedding, so it’s important to me to make them a priority, too. Kids get the spotlight for so many things but everyone deserves a beautiful picture.
Disney Springs is a themed dining, entertainment and retail center. It was designed to feel like Florida’s waterfront towns. It also mimics the historic architecture and natural beauty of the state of Florida. The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and Town Center are the four neighbourhoods of Disney Springs. They’re built around – you guessed it! – bubbling springs.
There’s no admission to get into Disney Springs so it’s a lovely place to walk around and check out the shops and stalls.
Disney usually goes all out during different holidays. Magic Kingdom gets all light up and decorated and parts of Disney even feature fake snow!
Disney Springs at Christmas is no different. The shops and stores all feature special holiday items, the eateries offer special christmas meals and snacks. Stanta, Christmas trees and themed entertainment are also around during the holiday season.
It was a great Disney Springs family shoot and I’m happy to work with them any time.
