Meet the Parsons family! Holly, Nathan and Connor are local to my home town and they love Disney almost as much as I do. Actually, maybe just as much as I do – if I’m being honest. And there’s nothing quite like a Disney holiday family photo shoot.
The Parsons go to Disney at least once per year and it’s become a kind of tradition for them. They also usually go around the holiday season and take advantage of the quieter days at the resort and of the special holiday decor. It’s so nice when families combine holiday and family traditions. It’s a great way to make memories and celebrate family during a time when everyone is feeling a little more connected.
The Parsons are long term clients of mine and try to book a session with me whenever their travel dates and my availability overlap. It’s so great that they book with me whenever they can during their trips because I feel like I’m helping to capture these memories as they grow together and have these family experiences. It’s also been really special to watch Connor grow up and the relationships between them grow stronger.
It makes me feel really sentimental and I think a lot about my traditions with my own family. It really is special to do photos with the Parsons.
This session was at Disney Springs during the holiday season. The new edition is really nice, clean, modern and it’s great for photo sessions.
Disney Springs is a themed dining, entertainment and retail center. It was designed to feel like Florida’s waterfront towns and to mimic the historic architecture and natural beauty of the state of Florida. The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and Town Center are the four neighbourhoods of Disney Springs. They’re built around – you guessed it! – bubbling springs.
There’s no admission to get into Disney Springs so it’s a lovely place to walk around and check out the shops and stalls.
Disney usually goes all out during different holidays. Magic Kingdom gets all light up and decorated and parts of Disney even feature fake snow!
Disney Springs at Christmas is no different. The shops and stores all feature special holiday items, the eateries offer special christmas meals and snacks. Stanta, Christmas trees and themed entertainment are also around during the holiday season.
Connor always likes to say during our photo shoots, “I’m just here for the snacks.” I always feel exactly the same.
The Parsons really fit in and set the tone for their shoot with their matching holiday shirts so they fit right in.
