You may not think of soccer as being romantic, but for Lindsay and Elliott, it was what brought them together. Paying on the same team and attending a team party that ended up being the two of them, their coach and his wife created the perfect situation for Lindsay and Elliott to see each other beyond teammates.
After a few years of friendship, their romance blossomed. After an unexpected (and tearful) proposal on a beach, this gorgeous couple agreed to spending their life together as partners — in soccer and everything else.
This couple loves to travel together (which is funny because Elliott didn’t even own a passport when they first started dating) so it was fitting for them to travel to Disney for their dream wedding. Epcot gave them the ability to “travel the world” on the day of their wedding. In fact, Italy is a place they’d love to go for a vacation and they got married at the Italy Pavilion in Epcot. So, it’s as close to a North American Italy wedding as you can get.
Pardon me while I wipe my eyes.
I have to give a shout out to Lindsay on this ceremony — and recognize the power of social media. Lindsay told me that she didn’t even realize that you could get married at Disney until she saw a TikTok about it. After seeing it in video, and knowing that the Italy Pavilion at Epcot was a thing, the two just seemed to fit together like it was meant to be.
The couple got ready separately at the Boardwalk Resort at Disney. The Bride, her sister and wedding party were there together. The groom and I snapped a few photos before we travelled to the Italy Pavilion for their first looks.
They did a first look at the Epcot Italy Pavilion. Honestly, it was so beautiful. It was sunrise, so such a quiet time of day. The bride’s bouquet was this big POP of color which worked so well with the pastels and neutral tones of the Italian Pavilion.
I just love a first look.
A lot of photos were taken before the ceremony so that the couple could just enjoy their time with their guests after the ceremony. The Bride had the carriage for the wedding which she rode up in with her father When she pulled up, every single guests gasped at the look. The father of the bride and Lindsey both looked so beautiful and it was such an emotional moment.
Ceremony was beautiful. Quiet. Quick. Full of love and laughter.
After the ceremony, the couple took a carriage ride to the American pavilion where some more photos were taken. The last stop of the day was at the California area for the reception.
First dances. Father – daughter dance. Laughter. Love. Family. There was then, of course, a beautiful Mickey Mouse cake.
In fact, Mickey and Minnie showed up to the reception for a visit before the guests sent the newly weds away on their final carriage ride.
Overall, this wedding was a beautiful tribute to a travel-loving couple with a dream to see Italy. The day was so much fun and so full of love. It was an honor to be a part of it.
