A Storybook Wedding

March 25, 2022

Once upon a time, Joanie and Robert met on a lovely website called OK Cupid. In today’s world, it can be hard to find people that are as serious as you but this love connection worked out perfectly for this couple. Immediately, Joanie was swept away by how caring, loving and kind Robert was. Their connection was found through books and their very first dates was at a Barns and Nobel. It makes sense, really, because their storybook wedding started with a storybook romance: straight out of a romance novel.

A Love For Storybooks

Robert proposed on Valentines day in 2019. The proposal happened at one of their favorite restaurants and the place was packed. Of course, Joanie said yes and they began their journey together. Their adventure to their wedding has been a crazy one, with a few COVID reschedules. However, in April of 2021 this couple finally said “I do.”

A Disney Wedding

Joanie got ready at Saratoga Springs Resort booked through Disney Vacation Club. Joanie and her mom stayed in a 2 room villa and the ladies got ready together. Her hair and makeup were done by the Bella Agency and they did a beautiful job. But her dress definitely took the show. It really was just like a princess in a storybook wedding.

Her dress was absolutely gorgeous. It was a Sophia Tolli gown that Joanie got from Lotus Bridal. I cannot say enough about this dress.

First Look

After Joanie was ready, she did a first look with her dad. The look on his face was absolutely priceless.

A Fairytale Wedding

They had their ceremony at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion with about 18 guests. The ceremony was quick, easy and beautiful.

Could They Be Any Cuter?

There were some totally romantic and adorable parts that this couple included in their wedding. After they said “I do” they made a pinky promise and sealed it with a kiss.

They also took a line from Frozen and decided to “finish each other’s sandwiches” by making sandwiches together.

I said they were cute.

We set off to take some photos together of just the bride, the groom, them as a couple and then the wedding party. I love shooting by this window in the Wedding Pavilion. Not many people know this, but the window is actually a magnifying glass that zooms in on Cinderella’s castle to make it appear larger.

We then got some nice group shots of the wedding party.

Lots of Mickey

The reception was full of Disney. There were Mickey bars, balloons and desserts galore. Even the cake — done at Disney by Disney — had Mickey Mouse details on it. Went out to the reception at Sago Cay Pointe at the Grand Floridian.

Overall, it was a beautiful day with a beautiful couple.

And they all lived happily ever after.
