When people think Disney, they think family. But what about those who are Disney lovers but want a more romantic feel to their photos? Or when the photos are for a romantic reason – like an engagement? Well, the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is the answer.
Torey and Justin are a couple from Alabama who love Disney and travelled to Florida for their engagement session.Torey had grown up doing Disney things as a child so they were very excited for this shoot. They, however, were looking for that more romantic feel to their engagement shoot. The Grand Floridian was the answer.
I usually suggest evening photo sessions at the resort and spa because the sunset is so beautiful from this location. Torey had her hair and makeup done by Fairytale Hair and Makeup so she looked the image of Disney Princess glamour for their engagement session.
Overall, Justin and Torey were such a laid back and relaxed couple. They just laughed and giggled and played together and we had such a great time. The romance was just spewing from them – it was very very cute.
This session took place over the holidays but the Grand Floridian is much more subtle with their decorations than the rest of Disney. There were some touches of the holidays but still very much a natural vibe about the venue. The one thing that the Grand Floridian does around the holidays is a life-sized gingerbread house. It’s one of my favourite things because as soon as you walk inside, you can smell it and it smells so good.
Because of the time of day and time of year, the resort was quite quiet for us. We were able to take advantage of this and get some photos both indoors and outdoors.
This couple was so relaxed. We were able to just wander around the venue, stopping wherever felt right and to just enjoy their time together. We visited the villas which had some great spots by the spa for some beautiful shots.
Overall, this couple had a beautiful engagement shoot. Their plan was to have a Disney wedding as well but, because of COVID, they ended up doing a wedding at home. They still got their romantic Disney experience and it’s clear from how they look at each other that where they got married really didn’t matter anyways.
